Yup I had more sleet too but it was snowing for an hour or so. I was outside watching it like a kid. LOL

My sunlit striped deck this morning. More sleet than snow.

I heard sleet on and off all night and woke up to 1" of sleet this morning. It was like trying to scrape frozen granulated sugar off of my car.

Actually BDR's post midnight report for the day recorded a trace, so it looks like it is the first time any snow fell on April 15 at least since they started doing records in 1948 (I had it backwards in my post yesterday, it actually had to snow BEFORE midnight for it to happen).

Most of the snow changeovers occurred a little before midnight and continued a bit after so both days should show measurable (which would still be a record at BDR, their April 16 snow record is a trace recorded in 1988 and earlier years). The only tri-state area station (being west and getting the changeover first) that showed measurable before midnight was Newark Airport, which recorded 0.3" as of midnight. Any measurable for BDR would be the 2nd latest ever, the latest being 0.5" on April 19, 1983

More interesting stat since I'm pretty sure snow/sleet of some kind fell in Central Park after midnight too to emphasize the rarity of this......for today's date, the 16th, they at least tied the record of a trace. It happened several times in Central Park, but last happened in 1943!

More rare for the coast but not common for even Bethel, Redding areas. Not rare, but not common. It's snowed north of Merrit mid April so its not rare but it doesn't happen often so its not common there.

Posted some photos I took from there and Greenwich.

North Greenwich got more than Norwalk-Wilton area. Amazing to see where the heavier stuff fell or got colder quicker or thicker.

Here one from Bethel as I filled up with gas.

Like you guys been discussing, Since late 1800s NYC only had measureable snow ONCE after April 15th.

I'm waiting for NWS NY to wake up and post something regarding totals or snow that fell for this area.

NWS Boston did. Judging from my travels it looks like more fell in northern Fairfield county but so hard to know when we don't have a visual or report from all towns. Plus people measuring after sunrise.

They'll probably call the 16th a trace like they did in the climate reports for the 15th.....
