Future radar loop. You can see when and where this model says the changeover happens. 12z = 8am. 00z = 7pm.

Looks like a quick burst from 3-6am

I don't see many Rocks there! Can't stand my soil here.
It was a lot of work but worth it. The dry wells we made (2 in total on the side and front) were about 5-6' deep, pipes ran 2' down below frost line, and the wells were lined with landscape fiber fabric then filled with stone. Pipes were capped with grate inserts then wrapped in fabric as well.

I've since raked all the big rocks and smoothed it a bit. All set for the rain for now. Sorry to get OT.

Just had some heavy stuff come by in Wallingford. Hopefully temps don't go too low and we stay away from any snow/mix. Grass keeps getting greener!

I think the DOT crews need to have the heads up... they might need to salt. NAM suggesting an icy mix now. Heads up after 8pm.

Here's latest NAM12z sounding for Danbury,CT for 10pm tonight before it dries out. Showing snow.

Hartford sounding shows a bit colder and moist and hence the snow totals are more. But ignore the map on the right. Just gives a general idea that CT valley might see more snow/ice.

Winds picking up and occasional downpours

Here's an interesting stat:

If Sikorsky Airport (i.e. BDR, Bridgeport/Stratford) gets ANY frozen precip it would be the first time ever (records go back to 1948) that that happened on April 15 (if it only occurs before midnight, no record, 3.7" actually fell in 1950, which is their latest ever 1" or more and 2nd latest measurable, after the 0.5" on April 19, 1983).

Can anyone spot the Cold front? lol Pretty simple to see.

A look at the current (1:15pm) 850mb temps on left with Satellite, Radar & Surface temps on right.
Cold air pushing East. Winds gusting to 35mph here. Still upper 50sF°.

Interesting! So its just for April 15th.. Yeah, can't believe they never had measurable snow after April 19th. But they have had traces at the end of April says the data. Problem is with "Traces" recorded it might be sleet or even hail sometimes. Hard to know for sure.

Will they get more than a trace after midnight? That would break the daily record.

By the way.. if you haven't seen it yet, check out the records page NOAA revamped. You're gonna LOVE it.
I did a post on how to get to it for everyone.

Phone vibration alert for a Freeze Warning here in SWCT. Expecting upper 20s to freezing.

4 lower counties have a Freeze warning. Albany and Boston didn't post it yet for northern 4 counties
