This... they've got a lot of leverage now that GE has left.

Still keeping eye on this news. According to fortune the CEO of Honeywell really wants to take over utc. Apparently what stopped negation a this time is that in the bid letter the CEO of Honeywell would run the newly formed company and Hayes would not have a position.

Worth keeping an eye on because Cote is one of the best CEO in the world and he will not take this laying down.

Apparently Honeywell and UTC tried merging back in 2000 and the European regulators shot it down.

That was GE trying to buy Honeywell...blocked by Mr. Mario Monti. UTC had tried before GE swooped in.

Bummed was hoping it be Yale. Charlotte merged with Hartford Hospital. The big question can ECHN, Middlesex, and Bristol avoid a merger with one of the big 2.
