Memorial Day to July 4th is the peak of summer? Heck its not even summer until 3/4 into that. I would think July 4th to Labor Day is the peak of summer.

I think if you wanted to say June was a bust weather-wise I'd agree...but summer is just starting. Love low-mid 80s but when it hits about 85 or so..i'm off the heat bandwagon

At last check, it was 90 F/32 C in New Britain. As for the middle of summer, I'd think it'd be around August 6th or 7th?

I know for most businesses at the shore the peak of the summer business is Memorial Day till fourth. Yes we have July and August but June is 1/3rd of the summer imo. So I will take two bad months instead of three. Therefore so far this summer has been a bust.

Really? I would think it would be from the 4th to Labor Day when (in this part of the country) schools are closed (though in CT and I believe RI they are open the week before Labor Day; in NY, NJ and I believe MA they don't open until after). There are parts of the country where school ends just before or right after Memorial Day (North Carolina comes to mind) and open earlier in August where the above would make sense, but I don't think that is the case in New England and the Mid-Atlantic.

That's simply not true. Hell school isn't even out until the end of June.

I live on the shore and I would agree with others....the business community on the beach does their biggest business from July to at least mid September. In fact, for those of us who live in the beach - we actually do the most things in the beach towns in September.

As far summer being a bust, while Memorial Day was a bit cool...the 4th was perfect weather wise for beach coastal activities. Most of the business near the beach/coast did great the last couple of day, and the weather will be perfect the rest of the weekend. So I think the current beach weather made up for anything we had in June

The dew point has been between 70 and 74 since at least 7/3 at Sikorsky. Oppressive.
