Upton this morning, Upton now. Why cant they use their "winter approach" in the summer. Start low and adjust higher. What a joke they can easily put substantial rainfall.

Is this lower rainfall amount due to a change in track? Like maybe it's going more inland or more offshore? Last night everyone was hyping a near "direct hit" and it still being a TS when it gets here, but also noting it will be about as minimal a Tropical Storm as you can get so that you don't get all these scares about a "Sandy repeat" etc.

Nope, track wasn't different than it was 10 hrs later. Nothing had supported that at the time. Thats not to say I dont believe 3-4" cant happen, I'm just wondering how they start high then adjust half the amount...and now... we're back. LOL Thats like showing 10" of snow first, then 5", now back to 10". A foot of snow is big difference from half foot.

With my rant over.... I do believe some areas can get over 3 inches of rain which is a whole months worth in 24hrs.

4:30pm Radar and Satellite and a look at 18z hurricane Model tracks from GFD, HWF, GFS, TCVN, & NHC.
The HWF model keeps it on land.

Landfall looks to be Cedar Key or Horseshoe Beach, Florida.

If T means "Tropical Storm" how does HWF keep it that if it's on land from FL on up? I mean it's not like it's starting out as say a Category 3 in FL petering into a TS........though I admit I'm surprised it's actually getting close to being a Hurricane period (I think winds are up to the 60s now down there).
