Not a common scene in the sky over Connecticut .. or New England for that matter.

Take a look at these awesome pictures from a small supercell over Southbury and Newtown yesterday. http://ryanhanrahan.com/2013/06/15/super-cool-cloud-over-newtown/

Click link for more pictures and details..

If you saw this, what would you think it was?

Cam,

WTNH has cool temperature graphic showing the temperature differences across CT. You can clearly see how central CT is much warmer than say southeast CT and the Litchfield hills.

Edit: Picture didn't come at as what is displayed on WTNH's website.

That is nice. Thanks! I like the color scale. Easy to read. Look at the 50s over Litchfield and northern Hartford right now. Also Rhode Island

Interesting to see the shoreline was warmer last night. Usually its the opposite especially with a onshore wind off the sound. Water temperature is 62 on the sound. What direction were the winds? Out of the Northwest?

Yeah this was 11pm temps last night. Notice NYC. So it was mid 70s NYC, I was had 62 in Wilton, and 57 in Danbury. Believe it or not Winds were averaging from the SW. Maybe thats why it was warmer at the coast? Not sure. IEM | Observation History

Actually it is normal (though more so in winter than summer) for it to be warmer on the coast at night. Then (especially if a sea breeze kicks in) the reverse is true during the day.
