* SEVERE THUNDERSTORM WARNING FOR...
CENTRAL HARTFORD COUNTY IN NORTHERN CONNECTICUT...
TOLLAND COUNTY IN NORTHERN CONNECTICUT...
WINDHAM COUNTY IN NORTHERN CONNECTICUT...
* UNTIL 645 PM EDT

* AT 542 PM EDT...DOPPLER RADAR INDICATED A LINE OF SEVERE
THUNDERSTORMS CAPABLE OF PRODUCING DAMAGING WINDS IN EXCESS OF 60
MPH. THESE STORMS WERE LOCATED ALONG A LINE EXTENDING FROM HAMPDEN
TO HARTFORD...OR ALONG A LINE EXTENDING FROM 9 MILES SOUTHEAST OF
SPRINGFIELD TO WEST HARTFORD...AND MOVING EAST AT 35 MPH. SPOTTERS
HAVE REPORTED WIND GUSTS OF 50 MPH IN HARTFORD AND TOLLAND
REGIONS.

How quick? In just 30 minutes it went from couple of clouds to this!

And yet, in New Britain's south end, we had gusts from a big down draft and then a lone rumble of thunder later. No lightning or rain. The weather guy on WTIC-TV (FOX) channel 61 of Hartford broke in and said it had something to do with higher dew points near the shore line.
