I live by the Starbucks with the drive-thru in Irmo, and it is insane busy. I'm not a coffee drinker, so I don't get it. That being said, this will probably get people in BullStreet in droves, and isn't that the path to success?
As long as the traffic patterns are setup to allow commuters to get in and out of there. Otherwise, I would avoid it during rush hour.
I feel your pain!
Unfortunately 80% of their funding was federal taxpayer dollars almost 20 years ago. The current political climate in Washington DC isn’t exactly favorable toward these projects.
Also SC state government is hardly mass transit oriented. For a state so automobile oriented to wind up ranked as having the worst roads is inexcusable.
Yeah.. President Clinton must have had a hand moving the federal funding to benefit a project such as this......Incidentally, the Clinton Library anchors their riverfront and I believe the trolley runs right to it... I am going to a conference down there in May 2020.. look forward to checking out their downtown and riding on the Trolley

Wait until you see the new Starbucks with a drive thru in irmo. It’s going to be a traffic nightmare
I may or may not be feeling good. But might I recommend Sand Bar in Ballentine on Marina Road. 10/10. I didn’t quite know where this would fit sub forum wise.
While I understand that there's really no such thing as "free parking," to pass on more costs to citizens by extending enforcement to 9pm on weekdays plus on Saturdays from 9am-9pm would be boneheaded and work against all of the efforts and investment happening downtown to bring in more people.
I don't think extending parking meter hours would be beneficial. Of course, the REAL problem is that so much land in Columbia is owned by organizations that don't pay taxes. If they don't pay taxes, they need to contribute a use fee.
Good. Ride Transit. Other cities have figured it out. If you wanna go to The Vista Main Street or Five Points. I just take the Soda Cap Connector. There was a reason they put that there. Parking has never been an issue. And if I'm going to drink. I'll just call an Uber usually. Makes life so much easier than circling the block 30 times trying to find parking or worrying about paying for parking.
