I have mud...phooey.

Tomorrow night and the better half of Wednesday would be a good time to stay in the house, for me anyway. Two fronts are going to meet in west central Colorado, one coming from Seattle and the other from Flagstaff. Snow totals are expected to hit a foot at least around the 7500 ft. level.

Default Winter Bomb Cyclone to pound central states.

WaPo has a good article on this storm. Story with graphics is here.

And in the Denver Post:

Snowfall at Colorado ski resorts was on a normal track — until March’s blitz of storms happened

Following a parade of major snowstorms in recent days that left historic avalanche activity in its wake, it should come as no surprise that this has been an epic winter for Colorado ski resorts, but now there is statistical data to prove it. . .

Not quite as much here in Mesa County but it was a good, steady rain pretty much all night. On I-70 at mile marker 52 CDOT is dealing with a nasty rockslide in DeBeque canyon. Fortunately not much for wind.

Am watching the Weather Channel now, what makes this storm dangerous is their prediction of 30-35 mph sustained winds, gusting to 65-70 mph. They showed reporters from Cheyenne to Denver to Omaha weighing in on current conditions. Apparently in Nebraska their highway department is getting ready to shut I-80 down already as they are not going to take any chances.

The perfect storm? Looks like.

Giant pine tree down on the corner, fell in Mrs. K’s (my 86 year old widowed neighbor) yard ... right between her house & car. My power was out for 7 & a half hours but the very worst is that my 22 year old daughter has been stranded at work with 20 other people up north off of Voyager Pkwy, with no power, since this morning.

They were the last department to leave, for some reason but they got out to the parking lot & the snow was past their knees. She said the snowplows can’t get to them.
