Not really, because I know Texas has pretty much sucked during its worst decade of Longhorn history.
Once again the SEC West is overrated. Most everybody outside thinks so.
Yes, Bama is the exception... they are awesomely great.
The other powers... not so much, including LSU.
As for A&M?
That's ridiculous. The SEC West deserves every bit of its reputation, and then some.
And Texas lost to national champ LSU by a hair because of an easy dropped td pass and an all out blitz on 3-17. Lol
Anyway, this SEC “gauntlet” A&M went through in 2020? Yeah, real impressive...
Lol. Texas still lost the game. Doesn't matter what the score is. A win is a win, right? Do all the close wins by Texas against A&M mean less then?? Lol!
It's a little hard to gage Texas. What sticks out in my mind (although this has been a while now) is them losing in back-to-back season openers against weak Maryland team (first times the schools have ever played). In one of those years, Maryland lost to Penn State 66-3 and to Ohio State 62-14......
A historic blue-blood program like Texas losing to a school like UMD in back to back openers isn't a great look. Although that was a few years back.

They've done a horrible job making great coordinators into head coaches.

No kidding. Us Texas fans were highly disturbed by that ugly fiasco, along with several others that soured the opinions on Herman. The Sugar Bowl win over the inept overrated Georgia Dawgs was his highlight, but he was not liked by darn near everybody in Austin. That guy thought he was smarter than everybody else.
Maybe he was... he got paid $30,000,000 for mediocrity. Lol
Texas might get lucky to win 6 games and become bowl eligible playing in the SEC.
