But their last championship was in the 1980's. They keep getting blown out any time they make it to a bowl. NBC needs to get over its creepy obsession with Notre Dame and give other teams some coverage. Preferably conference games involving teams that don't suck.
Amen brother!! Do you think they're going to a "Bowl" this year?? I wouldn't be surprised if they beat Duke and Army and all of the sudden by ranked and on the way to a Bowl game this January!! They have the most overrated coach, I know Ty Wellingham is laughing out loud!!

I'm no fan of ND but the demise of that program has been greatly overblown....they were just in the Sugar Bowl last year.

You are totally right that they have to be hating it....they are bad on an epic scale.

Actually, UND currently has over 20 verbal commitments, and is ranked by all credible recruiting sites as having the #1 recruiting class in the nation - by far.

After the Naval Academy loss, not one commit has decommitted.

I haven't seen much credible college football analysis in this thread, however, while obviously ND is an easy target this year having such an abysmal season, lest we forget that ND is coming off of two straight BCS Bowls, has a world of talent at the sophomore and freshman levels (obviously unfortunately for this season there admittedly is woeful talent at the junior and senior levels), and has the #1 recruiting class in the nation coming in next year.

To act as though this year is anything other than an aberration is simply very knee-jerk.

It has been a horrid year for ND football for sure. But things, they turn around rather quickly when you are bringing in the youthful talent that ND is.

The Green Bay Packers were woeful and 4-12 1.5 seasons ago. Now, they are 7-1 and on top of the world; while that is professional football, the message is the same - things can change in a heartbeat in sports and football.

Meaningless, since ND always gets 'affirmative action' when it comes to bowl games. Every season, they get into bowl games where they are overmatched, and they lose. That's why they haven't one a single bowl game since January of 1994, an ancient time long ago when Congo was still Zaire, and the internet was a tiny nub of a system mainly used by tech people.

Now, it would be another thing had ND actually WON their BCS bowl, but they didn't. They lost. They got blown out. They didn't belong in those bowls, and yet ND fans use their undeserved presence as evidence of the program's quality. That's another reason people hate ND.

I'm also not very impressed by ND's supposed recruiting quality, since Weis is clearly incapable of developing anyone's talent on any level.

Like I've noted before, I expect ND to improve somewhat next season, get socially promoted through AA into a bowl they don't deserve, and then get outmatched again for yet another big loss.

They have to get better, it's nearly impossible for them to get worse. Look for them to win 4 games next year. If Ty Willingham would've had this type of season when he was at ND, he would've been fired at midseason, or should I say fired by now. Weiss is not a college coach.

Do you think Weis has anything to do with their poor performance this year?

I hope ND bounces back, we need to keep some traditions alive

What is worse ND losing to Navy, Mich losing to Appalach, or Neb losing to Kansas so bad?

Weis is a poor college coach. He has yet to win a big game at ND.
