Wow after the sactions are up for USC I see them winning the South divsion of the Pac-10. But the North is where the action will be at. I havent looked or anything but where will they play the conf champ games at? Will be like SEC just at the same place-ATL or will it rotate like the Big 12?

I don't think K-State beat OU that year. Did they?

I remember Nebraska getting thumped by Colorado and then getting in. That's when they stopped putting so much emphasis on the computers and let the voters have more say.

Yes, it was the 2003 national championship OU vs. LSU (where LSU won 21-14). K-State had beaten OU in the big 12 championship that year 35-7.

Anyhow-- who does everyone think is getting upset this week?
My prediction: Auburn (who play Arkansas)
And god willing... Nebraska (who play Texas)

I don't remember that game. I think that was the same year Ohio State beat K-State in the Fiesta. Or maybe that was the year Ohio State beat Okie State in a bowl. I'm gonna have to look that up.

It wouldn't totally shock me if the Wolverines upset Iowa this week. I could see Arkansas beating Auburn too.

LSU plays McNease St. I figure Les Miles will figure out a way to keep McNease in it so that LSU can win on the last play.

Yep, it was the year Ohio State beat K-State in the Fiesta. The good thing that came out of that whole debacle is the BCS made the rule that you at least have to win your conference in order to play in the NC. However, I'm sure Texas fans have an issue with what it means to "win" your conference.

Upsets of the week...not too sure. I think Arkansas will beat Auburn but that's a pretty small upset. I'll also take A&M over Mizzou for my second minor upset of the week. Otherwise I'm saying the ranked teams roll this week (words I'm sure to eat come Sunday).

And the schools could just choose to not participate in the BCS anymore if they wanted to. They could make just as much money without it. And the bowls are private businesses. If they want to sign a contract with a conference or team I don't think Congress cn do anything about it.

Plus, they would have to get support from Senators from states like Oklahoma, Ohio, Michigan, Florida etc...

Then again it is Congress. LOLs.

I've been wondering about Michigan State-Ohio State also. I'm not sure it would happen. I kinda hope it doesn't. It would be bad for college football to have 2 teams from the same conference in. I don't think MSU is good enough to run the tables. And they would probably end up like Auburn when Oklahoma-USC played. If 2 teams with bigger national names have the same record they would get picked over MSU.

I really would like to see Ohio State-Nebraska the most. As an OSU fan it is the last chance we ever get to play them in a bowl.

One thing that seems really unfair to me. Villanova has been asked to join the Big East in football. They haven't decided yet. They would get AQ status right away even though they have been FCS status for years. Doesn't seem fair to schools like TCU and Boise. 'Nova is 4-0 all-time againt the Florida Gators.

I still think the Big East should have tried to grab Missouri, Kansas, K-State and ISU when it looked like the Big 12 was going to implode. I think those schools would have gone at that time. It would make for a very respectable fb conference. And a nice 20-team bb league.
Actually weren't there some notes leaked that the Big East was going to do just that along with possibly a couple of others if either the current members or these four go elsewhere? Though there is the issue that due to how their membership isn't there always the risk of a split in the event of gaining or losing members?

Congress and/or the IRS is very unpredictable so who knows if they try poking in or not.

Also isn't it very possible that one more BCS game will be added when it is up for negotiation? Though what also happens if that occurs depends on weather superconferences happen by then or not.

Yeah, I've heard that Big East is looking at being proactive in the expansion arms race since they will likely be the BCS conference who gets dismantled if they stand idle. I know Jerry Jones is pushing for the Cotton Bowl to be a BCS game, but not sure if that would be an additional game or possibly replace the Fiesta Bowl (which I'm sure the folks in AZ will do everything possible to prevent).

Auburn/Arkansas was probably the highest scoring game I've ever seen, and also the longest that didn't go into OT.

Next week's Auburn/LSU game is going to be a big one.
