Medical Mutual CFO: Rose Building in downtown Cleveland is 'first preference' for HQ (photos) | cleveland.com
This is a little surprising, but good to see the plan is to remain downtown.

Are there any news links on development over the massive surface parking lots downtown? The sheer number and size of them for a downtown has always seemed odd to me.

Weston, Citymark plan apartments for Warehouse District parking lots: First Look (photos) | cleveland.com

The above links address three surface lots, although it's been a while since I've heard anything regarding the Weston Citymark proposal. Also, the surface lot on the west side of Public Square east of the Weston proposal, which I believe is still owned by Jacobs (who has a major high rise and redevelopment plan for the Flats West Bank), has long been rumored to be the future home of Sherwin Williams HQ. There is nothing concrete to demonstrate this other than rumblings and speculation from those in commercial real estate. We are in agreement that DT CLE has far too many surface lots, but the feeling is there will be fewer and fewer over the course of the next decade+.
