Default Noodlecat abandons downtown for Crocker Park

This is somewhat surprising. Has the downtown dining scene become too saturated? Has Noodlecat suffered from the development of Heinen's and the East Flats?

Default "Towpath Stomp" on Aug. 26 celebrates critical addition to the Towpath Trail

Slowly, but surely, the Towpath Trail is being expanded to connect Cleveland's lakefront with the Cuyahoga Valley National Park.

A crucial new segment runs under the new Innerbelt bridges and features a couple viewing plazas, one located beside Sokolowski's University Inn and likely to be a popular attraction for visitors to that iconic restaurant, perhaps exacerbating parking problems at the restaurant during peak periods.

Also, Heinen's at the Cleveland Trust Rotunda at East 9th St. and Euclid Ave. has become very popular as a dining and beer/wine tasting location for downtown workers, residents and visitors. It's actually is the number 10 Cleveland attraction, according to tripadvisor.com.

The introduction of Heinen's certainly has not helped the viability of Noodlecat's downtown business model, especially as the Heinen's deli offers ramen noodles.

Yeah I have no idea why it's on any list. It's not anything special.

Ramen places are a dime a dozen.

Also though, I really don't know if a restaurant closing means anything about the health of a city. Sometimes things just fall out of favor. I've been noticing that with frozen yogurt places recently. Nobody cares anymore. I know I don't miss any of them. If a restaurant doesn't replace Noodlecat, that's probably fine. There are already so many down there.
