Tower Crane set. Playhouse square apartment tower seems to be well under way! It's really exciting to see a 29 story apartment tower topping out and another 34 story apartment tower under construction! I never thought I would see the day of this downtown transformation.

Love it! You're right, and I expect we'll see several more cranes over the next decade.

There is an interesting discussion in the article claiming that Cleveland's rail rapid ridership is limited because the lines were designed as commuter rail lines and not as a subway system with frequent stops. That's true but it also was a much cheaper solution that served a big need until job patterns changed with few downtown jobs and more persons living downtown. It's does seem obvious that TOD projects will boost rail ridership.

Reading the article, I wonder if the Healthline doesn't offer better TOD project economics given some of the more depressed areas that it travels through, and more convenient service to University Circle and the Cleveland Clinic campuses, major employment centers. The Healthline also offers 24/7 service, sometimes a great convenience.
