You know.... it could be possible that Cleveland and Columbus are both great cities, each with advantages over the other.

Nah, I must be crazy.

Which city has the best housing deals?
http://finance.yahoo.com/news/city-b...160439351.html

As a basis of comparison, the national average listing price of a four-bedroom, two bathroom home is $302,632, according to a new report from Coldwell Banker Real Estate. In the nation's most expensive market, Newport Beach, California, that same home will list for $2.3 million. In the least expensive market, Cleveland , Ohio, it will list for $74,502.

"Cleveland's community, revitalized downtown and renewed sense of pride have contributed to the rapid growth in this market," said Ed Dolinsky, president of Coldwell Banker Hunter Realty in Cleveland, in the report. "Many first-time home buyers and young professionals are looking at Cleveland as an affordable place to settle down and enjoy all of the great things the city has to offer."

Home prices in Cleveland are up nearly 3 percent from a year ago, according to S&P/Case-Shiller. Price growth in cities such as New York and Washington, D.C., some of the least affordable markets, are growing at a slower pace.

Default Cleveland ranks high in per capita arts attendance

Arts attendance in Cleveland is close to New York's on per capita basis (analysis) | cleveland.com

Note that cities that rank high in per capita attendance also have one or more excellent cultural institutions.

In Cleveland, it certainly helps per capita attendance that the superb Cleveland Museum of Art has free general admission.

Per capita attendance at PlayhouseSquare likely is off the chart. This is indicated by the fact that next year Cleveland will become one of only a handful of cities with 3-week runs of Broadway national touring productions. PlayhousSquare has some of the best theater spaces in the U.S., and two acclaimed independent theater companies.

The world-class Cleveland Orchestra has relatively reasonable ticket prices and accessibility compared to orchestras in larger cities, and free events such as its annual Star-Spangled Spectacular.

I hope some of you were able to attend some of the programs put on this year as part of the Violins of Hope.

CBS Sunday Morning did a moving segment on it. While this doesn't exactly fit under this thread, I don't think we need an individual thread for it.
