That's construction for major infrastructure projects and among US cities it seems like LA takes the cake. On June 16th, a bit over a week from now, LA's opening the
Regional Connector which through-runs existing light rail lines through downtown. Meanwhile there's a heavy rail subway and multiple light rail extensions underfoot (and a sort of silly airport connector in lieu of a direct existing transit line extension to the airport).
