4 years ago. When we went out, either to Miami Beach (Lincoln) or the Grove. The only time I would go downtown was to a Heat game or an occasional concert next door.

i realize it gets pretty dicey after 10 so this is just the way i'm feeling now, weighing economic importance (office space) various uses (residential/commercial as well as other things like nightlife, universities) and overall importance to the region. the main reason i ranked atl a bit higher than miami, dallas and houston is because of the wider range of uses when compared with them. (transit hub, state capital, state and tech - both major universities) i did rank it lower than some notably smaller cities for lacking as much vibrancy when it comes to retail, (especially high end) and variety of restaurants but it's improving pretty rapidly in both categories.
