I think Minneapolis is slightly behind last year's pace. And the summer is almost over. When it starts getting cold in Minneapolis it does curb some of the violence. So I think Minneapolis won't have as many this year which is good. But the first 3 years of this decade have been pretty bad so far. Somewhere just shy of 300 homicides in the city since the start of 2020 at this year's end. I think at some point Minneapolis will return to the homicide rate it used to have prior to 2020.

So among the black communities of Minneapolis and Baltimore you are almost equally as likely to become a murder victim is yoi are black.. it seems Baltimore has about the same homicide rate within the black community as Minneapolis but it is considered far worse. I'm just wondering if it's misleading for us to assume that. Chicago had hundreds of homicides but very few are white. For a black person is Baltimore or chicago are they really anymore dangerous than Minneapolis or Portland etc?.
Neither city is alone in the demographic homicide disparity. Philly, St. Louis, Chicago, Memphis, DC, Milwaukee all have AA homicide rates that rival/match Baltimore. Your 16-17x more likely to get shot in Baltimore as a person of color than a White or Asian person.

Pittsburgh too. Typically all but just two or three of our homicide victims annually are Black. It's sad how much more dangerous it is to be Black in America.

I have no clue. Even Bowie has about 4 this year. Outside the beltway usually sees about 15-25% of the murders but rarely in upper marlboro.

It's just crazy...especially when I'm literally across the river in AA County (I live near Crofton) and AA County so far only has 7 homicides this year (15 total last year).

Of course, Howard County has like what? 1 or 2 so far this year? (I couldn't find any actual numbers...).
