Before you ask me to blow the dust off my Bible & go searching for chapter & verse, it would be reasonable to expect a Christian to know the Bible more intimately than a non-believer.
It's rather tiring to spend the time to dig up the quote only for the one who asked for it to dismiss it out of hand with a 'You're taking that out of context!' or to pretend that it means other than what it says.
Seriously, have you actually read the entire Bible or do you just stick to the 'good bits' that are pointed out by your priest/pastor?
Starting from when my boy was quite young, he'd come out with some fairly profound truths that often gave me goose-bumps.
When I'd ask him how he knew, he'd just shrug & say "I don't know dad, I just know."

Code for: I made it up. As I thought, you got nothin’.
I am not concerned about the point system for heaven others seem to fret about, or threaten others with. At this stage of my life that seems more that silly.
I expect to check on the kids once in a while and the Grands just like my own mother does. I expect to be drinking Tequila, baking, and reading. I even might learn to cook without a smoke alarm going off.
I expect to see other like minded spirits who are not fretting about having enough points, or believing in a certain way. I will find people I love, and find new people to love.
It is a knowing. Just like other things I have known in my life. God and I are old friends, jimmie. I simply know. I accept knowing.
Some things I just know. I know when my mother visits. She is distinct. I know when my MIL checks in, too. Do you experience these things?
