Back to the free will issue:

"Hi, this is a contradiction. How is everyone then being given an opportunity when He already knows that they will not choose Him before He created them?
Why cannot He not violate the free will of man. He has done this as recorded in the scriptures.

Romans 9:18
"So then He has mercy on whom He desires, and He hardens whom He desires."

He is to subject all things to Himself?

Hebrews 2:
For in subjecting all things to him, He left nothing that is not subject to him. But now we do not yet see all things subjected to him.

God can violate man's free will, because He has all power and it is His will that will be done, not ours, not what is believed to be man's free will. God's will is not subservient to our will.

Ephesians 1:
9 He [j]made known to us the mystery of His will, according to His [k]kind intention which He purposed in Him 10 with a view to an administration [l]suitable to the fullness of the times, that is, the summing up of all things in Christ, things [m]in the heavens and things on the earth. In Him 11 [n]also we [o]have obtained an inheritance, having been predestined according to His purpose who works all things after the counsel of His will, 12 to the end that we who were the first to hope in [p]Christ would be to the praise of His glory. 13 (NAS)

The scriptures say that one who commits sin is a slave to sin, so where is free will here? God bless.

God bless.

Isaiah 65
11“But as for you who forsake the Lord
and forget my holy mountain,
who spread a table for Fortune
and fill bowls of mixed wine for Destiny,
12I will destine you for the sword,
and you will all bend down for the slaughter;
for I called but you did not answer,
I spoke but you did not listen.
You did evil in my sight
and chose what displeases me.”

Joshua 24:15
But if serving the LORD seems undesirable to you, then choose for yourselves this day whom you will serve, whether the gods your forefathers served beyond the River, or the gods of the Amorites, in whose land you are living. But as for me and my household, we will serve the LORD."

Joshua 24:22
Then Joshua said, "You are witnesses against yourselves that you have chosen to serve the LORD."

Amen, and He even works these after the counsel of His own will. It is only because of God, that men can choose Him anyway. I do believe that God gives us a self will and that we can resist the Holy Spirit today and decide to reject God, however, I do not believe that this is the result of free will or that in that it is bound or influenced by the will of God. There are many scriptures that point to God violating what is believed to be man's free will. God bless.

If you were to take all of Joshua 24 into account .. then Joshua 24:15 and 22 take a different meaning.

How many times was Joshua told by God had to remind the people just who is responsible for where they were ... certianly not by their decision (17 times).

19 Joshua said to the people, “You are not able to serve the LORD. He is a holy God; he is a jealous God. He will not forgive your rebellion and your sins.

20 If you forsake the LORD and serve foreign gods, he will turn and bring disaster on you and make an end of you, after he has been good to you.”

27 “See!” he said to all the people. “This stone will be a witness against us. It has heard all the words the LORD has said to us. It will be a witness against you if you are untrue to your God.”

Isaiah 65
for I called but you did not answer,
I spoke but you did not listen.

You did evil in my sight
and chose what displeases me.”
