Hey, as long as the Sox have been around, their record also proves them to be horrible losers, too. And after today's game, you can re-join the loser ranks with us Cubs fans.

That's the mark of a chump. Pay your money and get a poor product. Sox fans are cynical and hardnosed enough to punish the team by staying away when they lose.

Cynical and hardnosed, those used to be trademarks of Chicago people. Now many Chicagoans are big pussys just like everywhere else.

Apparently you don't understand what a true Cubs fan is then. You wouldn't know much about pro sports in the first place seeing as you have no professional teams in Kentucky. The best teams you got are the University of Kentucky and University of Louisville. Just because you don't have a team to be proud of don't ruin it for us too.

It's not really a poor product until the playoffs come around, at least the past few years.

I guess I understand both sides. I boycotted the Hawks for years because of old man Wirtz, but now that he's six feet under I'm happy to go to Hawks games and I'm really liking what they've done.

On the other hand, you could call fans who don't show up to games when a team is doing bad "fair weathered".......

You know Irishtom29 is from Chicago right? As much as I can see his point and yet disagree, but agree at the same time with him, you must understand he is a White Sox fan. Also you must understand he is older than most people on this board. Irishtom29 moved to KY a couple of years ago.

Gosh I am defending a White Sox fan? What is wrong with me?

You see, in the sports world, "fans" that only show up when teams are doing good are called bandwagon jumpers, which are the lowest of the low. Bottom feeding scumsucker bandwagon jumpers are a plague, simple as that. Either support your team or get the eff out.

Right, and then Sox fans can turn around and accuse them of being "bandwagon" fans -- which they already do, even as they're perfectly aware that attendance at Wrigley is solid win or lose. Either support your team, or don't. But don't tell me you're a "true fan" if you're only around when they win.

Half-empty stadiums has worked out really well for the Pirates, the Reds, the A's, the Royals, the Blue Jays, etc. Starving a team of revenue is an excellent way to give it the resources it needs to build a good team.
