101 years. Wow.

I believe the Cubs should change their name to Chicago Cubo (Completely Useless By October). Can we ever get a manager who actually WINS in the postseason?!?!?!?!?!?!?!?!?!?!?!?!?!?!?!?!?!?!?!?! ?!?!?!?!?

I don't agree with this at all. During long 6 month seasons, teams go through ups and downs and lose ball games, sometimes a couple in a row. Doing so in the playoffs doesn't make a team an underachiever. The playoff is no indicator of the team's 6 month season. There is zero correlation. It means anything can happen in a short 5 and 7 game playoff series.

When evaluating team's seasons overall, I do not believe in the WS title or bust theory. However, when discussing the playoffs of a particular season, the regular season no longer matters. All teams are equal in a short 5 and 7 game series. You cannot compare 6 months to 3 games.

If the Cubs keep contending and building contending teams, they'll get more chances and perhaps one of those or more will be bigger playoff winners. The Cubs problem has been an inability to build strong clubs most years. They had a good club this year, it just didn't work out in post-season.

You know, as much as I am a Sox fan, I was hoping the Cubs would get to the world series, I mean, it has been 100 years, it would have been epic, and now I have a lot of heartbroken friends. Sorry guys. Better luck next year.

Thanks for being one of the few courteous Sox fans. Seriously, I appreciate it.

No because the Sox had to leave town the day after they made the playoffs (or was it that night?) so there wasn't really time for a Sox rally.
