Heating bills? What are those? And in case you're wondering the electric bill for A/C was $120-150/mo during summer for a 1400sqft condo. I've heard heating gas during winter can be upwards of $300-400/mo! We rented with heat included so that fortunately never hit us.
Thanks for adding such insightful information.

Good for you.

I don't like Florida, and have no desire to live there.

I don't feel the need to tell Floridians that, though. But enjoy the winter in the sun.

Apparently not because my neighbor across the street doesn't shovel her snow no matter how many inches we get and we live on a main blvd that a bus line runs on, so there's always foot traffic. A few years back when I was out of town for a week and couldn't shovel, I didn't get any notices or anything.

I HIGHLY doubt their electic bill was that small in the summer! We live in north central Florida for the time being and our electic bill was almost $200 for a tiny apartment this summer. Not buying that! Electric bills are notoriously high in Florida - it is almost ridiculous. I know it's off topic but just had to clear that up!

Just let it live. Florida? Fine if you don't mind the possiblity of having to rebuild/repair your home aug. through november.

Try 7-8 months. My cousin just got back from Tampa, said it was warm and still sticky. No thanks!

Congratulations. I hear you can get way, way more space for your dollar when buying a home down there. Which is awesome, because then I'd have somewhere to keep all the millions you'd have to pay me to move to that giant Shrek-bog of a state.

Enjoy your hurricanes.
