What, like the "Magic Hedge" gatherings?

I haven't ever seen that type of activity there. It's usually just kite flyers, girls laying out reading books, and hispanic kids lighting off fireworks on July 4th. I used to take my daughter there from time to time to run around, but she kept picking up used firecrackers and empty bottles of Cerveza.

You need a job as a mod dude.
People who come to these forums for information don't always know to search. So what? Why are you so anal about it? I know you will find this hard to believe but people over the age of 50 sometimes are not that computer or internet savy. So, for the love of God, just shut up.

I suppose anonymous gay sex is better suited to a less visible location, like, um, a "hedge". Cricket Hill is pretty much the most exposed location I can think of in Chicago in terms of visibility.

Going back to the weather...
I can live with the cold and the snow. It's fine, cool, I like, I really like it.
But... is it THAT gloomy?
I live in London and HATE this time of the year. It can't be worse than this, or am I wrong?

It's going to be sunnier and colder in Chicago than London. London is also farther north than Chicago, so the days get shorter there. We had about an hour more between sunrise and sunset here in Chicago than you had in London. 8 hours instead of 9

It can't be worse... but probably not much better. I guess I don't see what the big deal is since I've lived in this climate or one substantially like it for all my life. But for those who move here from places that are warmer and/or sunnier, winters can be really really tough. Some can handle the cold (it's supposed to get down to about -15°C tomorrow night and we'll have a lot more nights like it in the next 3 months)... some can handle the snow... some can handle the cloudy days... some can even handle 2 out of 3. But put the three together and it really does take its toll on a lot of people. Even many who have lived in this climate all their lives and are "used to it" get fed up and leave. That's a major reason why the South and Southwest are booming while many northern metropolitan areas struggle just to maintain their present population levels.

I am sick of the news outlets acting like this storm is the Chicago "storm of the century." A storm like this happens multiple times a year almost every year.
