I have yet to see the areas near the lake (in the city) get more than an inch or two so far this winter. In fact, almost all the snow is gone right now.

It looks like we have only gotten about 1.5 inches in Lake View so far today.

There's some snow on the ground, but I'm not terribly impressed. They hyped this storm a little too hard.

It's not over yet. Next wave is coming this evening. Check back in 24 hours from now and let us know if you're any more impressed.

This is about the 5th HUGE storm that's been hyped and we ended up with hardly anything.

I'm holding out to get a big lake effect snow, but they system is moving further and further away and so far those winds that switched down over the lake really aren't bringing up anything. Lake effect snow tends to be better when the lake is warmer. I think it's around 32 degrees right now. Not sure if there's enough punch to get a lot going before the winds die down. Indiana always gets hit harder because you have many more instances of the winds coming from the northwest for prolonged periods of time that can really add up around Michigan City.

I'm gonna guess we end up with around 3" in the city. There's only about an inch or an 2 in the loop.

What is everyone's prediction for the end of storm total for their neighborhood?

I say 8 inches in (near the lake portion) Lake View.

Shoveled about 4-5 in. depth excluding drifts here in Mokena. Predict total of 8 with Friday south of I80.
