No matter which way you slice it the Escalade is a glorified Suburban...a Chevy SUV. $40k, no way. Not even $15k, but that's only my opinion I'm sure the kbb value is close to what they are asking. Not a bad looking machine at all, but over priced imo.
I never liked that generation of Escalade. I think the previous generation was more attractive and didn't have those stupid fender vents. On top of that, I'd never pay 40 grand for a two year old Chevrolet.
It's simply a lot of vanity vehicle instead of a task or job oriented vehicle.
A $15K diesel powered extended cab pick up truck will way outperform this for towing purposes, and many other vehicles are far superior when it comes to off paved roads performance. As far as inclement weather transportation, many other vehicles will do the job as comfortably, capably, and safely for way less money ...
I make the analogy of wearing a gold cased pave diamond faced wristwatch compared to a nice watch of reasonable cost. If you can afford the bling, so be it ... but it isn't justified on the basis of performance or luxury, for that matter.
I don't know why people hate on these Escalades so much. That one is over priced by about $5000 but you have to like that low mileage. It is, though just a 1500 Tahoe with some bling, but you aren't getting a 2008 Tahoe with that mileage for under $30k.
My fiancee and I have a 2010 Escalade which was a gift from my dad for our engagement and we love it! It's very comfortable and has all the goodies one could want. Overpriced? When compared to what exactly? Even a new Tahoe LTZ will run $50K+...
