Thanks for all your posts in your journey. Very interesting an informative. Best of luck in your new home. Our family is from South Florida too. (Coral Springs and before that Deerfield Beach since 1990.) What do you know about Elementary schools in your current area? Also, what hospital is closest to you? What is the biggest hospital in the area?

There are some A rated public elementary schools around town. As for hospitals, Memorial is to the north, Erlanger is downtown and Parkridge to the east. I'm pretty sure Erlanger is the biggest, but someone else here may have better information.

Is it possible to live in Chattanooga w/out a car? Is living downtown safe? I wanted to get some type of loft apartment downtown and take a bus to work. I'm in hospitality, so I'm hoping there's lots of hotels there.

Absolutely - if you were to live downtown and work in a hotel you could ride the electric shuttle for free and/or ride a bicycle around. There's quite an avid cycling community here in Chattanooga

Hi TriDad,
I read through this thread last night, but wasn't able to view the video (could be a problem on my end), but I wonder if you have another place online where I can view your Chattanooga videos/photos?

Thank you!

wow - it's been 2 years since we relocated to Chattanooga! hard to believe but we're still just as thrilled as can be about the area and more importantly about the people that call the Scenic City home.

sorry about the broken video links...it appears that Video Egg (the hosting company I used back then) is no longer hosting. It would be a lot of work to try and track down the clips so send a DM if you want to see something in particular.

That's great! You have definitely been helpful to me! Another question: before you ybought a house, where did you rent?

We rented a 3/2 with a 2 car garage and a 1/3 of an acre in Hixson (near Norcross and Ashland Tr) for $850/month

ended up liking the north side of town and ended up buying somewhat in the same vicinity

TriDad,
Just read through this entire thread, and wish I too could have seen your videos. Thank you for sharing your thoughts just as well.

I had to laugh to myself that you went to check out Calvary Chapel of Chattanooga.

Since I have been researching places to relocate I normally go into Calvary Chapel's website and look to see if there is one close by. I did notice they had one and listened to the pastor online....LOL. I am not sure if everyone does that sort of thing, it is just important to me for a move.

Last weekend when I was visiting I had gotten lost and turned around across the street from the Calvary Chapel of Chatt. Wow, there it was...LOL. How funny, well too bad it wasn't Sunday! That would have been awesome to join you all in a service.

I was living in NC and attended one there, and now TN, attending one here also.

How do you like the Calvary Chapel of Chattanooga? I saw the video of your mens retreat and it looked like alot of fun. Sounds like that was really important to you also in your move.

I had never heard of Calvary Chapel before I moved to NC, so it was something new to me but now since I have been affiliated with 2 of them, there is no going back to anything else. I feel like I am being fed beyond belief there.

Well, just wanted to voice my opinion and maybe gets yours from Calvary Chattanooga

Thanks, I put in an application for a 2BR/2BA apt in Lakeshore on the hills for 9 mos...so we'll pick back up the house search in the Spring.
