No door on this abandoned shack

Rural living I guess

Junk car with no motor
Thanks for posting! I particularly like the red metal roof one : ) You may think I am being sarcastic, but I am not. I really love these shots of Americana. Union county is still a rural county - I pray it stays that way and that the way of life of those that have been there for generations will not be wiped out by those who think they need to live in a perfect Disney World-type main street.

I just dont get it.
Mvn2nc,

While I am do not agree with having trash etc scattered throughout the land and junk cars etc surely you were able to see this before you bought your new home. If I have a new client in town once we find the dream home I drive them around the outskirts so they can see what they are surrounded by. Coming in one entrance may look great but going another way maybe as you described.

Duke1989,

Call you local officials and ask them what can be done if it bothers you so.

Unfortunalty Chalotte Agent what is in back of me was unforseen IMO.
When we bought last April this was an empty lot in which our builder owned several surrounding us. Its heavily wooded. Now trees come down to build ( we are on .78 of an acre) but plenty were left in the back. You could not for the life of you see through those trees. The lot slopes down to a creek then goes uphill again and beyond the "hill" is the neighboring junk yard.It just so happens our home sits up high and level to the neighboring land. But again there were so many trees that you did not see their property.Come Oct./Nov. now leaves all all gone! What a difference a day makes.
The good news is, leaves are returning so we have a reprive!
Their land ( on Shearers Rd. ) is very deep and goes on for acres. So this was not visable even from any angle other than walking their property.
I hope i explained this all well

Thank you, Loves! Union Co. is beautiful, even with all of us newcomers.

Are we all so conceited and proud of our new homes that we can't see value in anything else? What makes you think he doesn't think your new stucco track home isn't an eye-sore? After all, it was probably a lovely pasture filled with quiet cows and daisies before your developoment went in. I think, Duke, you clearly have too much time on your hands to be able to snap photos of every "run down" building in UC. Do you not get that that's what RURAL living is? Why on earth didn't you buy your house in Ballantyne or Blakeney? Those areas are beautiful and not a trace of rural old-timers anywhere....pretty sure you won't find any mobile homes or cows either. Could be your utopia! BTW, where would you have these people re-locate to? Ready to ship them all out so that your friends can move here and build another dreary development with "disney" features?? Can't wait. Seeing as you have so much extra time, perhaps you could start a volunteer organization to help them clean their properties up. Donate paint and fertilizer and get all of your transplant buddies to go out on Saturdays and revive the community?? Increase your property value while helping out a neighbor (though, I'm sure you'd die before calling them that). Oh wait...I bet you'll be hanging out at the waterslide.

I agree with you CharlotteAgent, as realtors we need to make people aware of their surroundings. When I bought here I saw that house? With the red roof, and I LOVE it! Has character. What I am not too fond of, is the neighbor with Mobile home, but everyone deserves a place to live! That is what makes America so great. You want perfection then I have a zip code for you - 90210

Anytime! I don't want everyone to think that all of the transplants are un-grateful snobs who want everything to change so that it can be exactly what we LEFT to come here. I hope Union Co. stays as diverse and great as it is. I want my kids to know that people do, in fact, live in houses not inside a wrought iron fence with a super slide attached to it.
