I read through 6 pages and still not picture of what it was. Such a letdown.

I know exactly what you described and none of these pics i seen is it but i have gotten close to this beast and risked my life for these pics lol jk
The stinger alone is the size of some of the bee pics i seen on here this is equally tje size of the biggest dragon fly ive seen

Sorry for the quality of the pic i got as close as i could with the zoom and my own comfort and let jus say i wasnt the calmest while taking this lol and btw i noticed. This thing on the ground 5 square sidewalk blocks away and assumed it was a big ass caterpillar crawling toward me.
