The Charlotte Hornets are back! I actually like the idea. Bob Johnson was a big mistake for Charlotte. Changing his ego-fueled nickname of "Bobcats" is a great move by the team.
Great news. I always see more Hornets gear around town than Bobcats. This won't make us winners but I'm sure it will give residents more enthusiasm and pride in the team. As hard as I tried I could never make myself like the bobcats. Finally getting our Hornets back!

A great step forward for the team and the fans! Yes, not the same Hornets team but it is this region's IDENTITY and that is part of the equation for this current team's success.
I agree. From forcing people to subscribe to TW digital service to watch games (not available to watch in York county due to them being on Comporium) to naming the team after yourself to refusing to even living here. Bob Johnson was a joke. The NBA should have originally gave the franchise headed by Steve Belkin and Larry Bird, but this is a great PR move by Jordan and the team!
I agree. They'll sell more Hornet merchandise the first year they rebrand than they have Bobcat junk I'd imagine. It's funny how much Hornet stuff you still see around the area, obviously a source of pride for many people. About the time the Bobcats get rebranded they should be coming off another likely bad year (2013-14 season) and they'll be getting several nice draft picks that year as well in a loaded draft.
Could the Hive finally come back alive in '14/15 with a reasonable shot at being good???? Talk about a fun atmosphere if all that aligned just right. Don't screw it up Jordan/Higgins.
Good to hear! I wish some other teams could have retained their original names. Like what does jazz even have to do with Utah? Do any grizzlies live in west Tennessee?
