Expansion of water park maybe but there is not much land on that side and they would have to buy Camp Wilderness resort.
I think they will expand the land on the other side of the Hurler.
I thought the park owned the campground. Did that change?

My guess is that they'll do it like Dorney Park (2 parks for the price of 1). Home Page They hold their own against 6 Flags in spite of being less convenient (Allentown) They will probably expand advertising to the Greenville/Spartanburg market. When WCNC's signal flakes out on me & I switch to the Greenville station, Dollywood reigns supreme.
I don't think they will separate the water park from the regular admission anytime soon. I don't think Carowinds is a big enough draw on its own quite yet. Most of Cedar Fair's parks are combined.
As someone who grew up near Cedar Point, I'd LOVE it if they really invested in expanding Carowinds!

Ah, Sandusky, Ohio. I grew up near Pittsburgh so we always saw commercials for CP but it was too far away for us to go.
Carowinds buys 61 acres; new rides, hotels coming..... (CO article)
This has always been one of the areas star attractions. With other amusement parks struggling and some even closing, its good to see ours doing so well. This is great news! I have season passes for my 2 boys and I and we have a great time there every time we go. I can't wait until they hit 52 inches and can ride all the rides!
The Snoopy's Spectacular is a real cool light show, and we also really enjoy the Snoopy ice show. Very entertaining and the A/C is a great rest from the heat.
I would like to see some more extreme water rides, but hopefully that will be added some day.
Intimidator is great, but add more big rollercoasters like Cedar Point.
