I'm going to NC (for like the 5th time) this year. We'll be there all next week. I want to do some fun things- I have a list of places I want to get to. Has anyone been to Carowinds? I've never been there but I saw the website.

It a fun park The Borg is the best ride in my opinion and Top Gun comes next.
It can get hot so be prepared but there is a water park to cool off at and there is a misting area.
If im not mistaken harris teeter sales discounted tickets I would explore that option.
The best time to go is during the week and sundays on weekends less of a crowd.
From this board it is noted they do have fireworks display and the park is fun at night just as it is in the day time.
Only roller coaster I didnt care for is hurler it probably is fun but I always feel like I just had a car wreck by the time I get off that ride lol.

Things can be a little pricey in the park I have taken cracker sandwiches and frozen bottle of water in my day bag to help get me by.
Watch out around Nickleodeon section there a ride that the riders can get you wet if your not watching

I will second that, it's a blast.

They had a commerical if you buy one ticket for $5 extra you can come back a second time with the same ticket. Pretty good deal.

The food and the waterparks are my favorites, however, I haven't had a date with Mr Sun lately.

It's a good park. Good description by SK. The waterpark is also included in the park admission. It's a great value. Not many theme parks do that.

Thunder Road backwards is a blast. All the aforementioned rides are all good. And yeah the Hurler is kinda rough, especially in the back of the car. Drop Zone is closed. Don't know if or when it'll re-open. It's a very enjoyable park. It's owned by Cedar Fair now so it is going through de-"Paramountzation". (yes i just made that word up!) Have fun! Just don't forget to use sun tan lotion.

If you are going with kids bring a sippy cup because they do not sell lids with their cups (or atleast they didn't last year) unless you buy the "carowinds cup" But Paramont doesn't own them anymore so maybe the new people allow lids.
