I can't believe I missed this, but WSAZ gave an updated report of the proposed new shopping center along Corridor G back in August. Little Creek Village will include an anchor store (28,000sqft) and 15 other stores and restaurants ranging from 2,000-4,000 sq. ft. No mention of a gas station. If the DOH approves the site plan and traffic pattern, South Charleston will annex the land. Construction will start in Summer 2017. FYI, these are the same developers that are building Westview in Morgantown and Tanyard Station in Huntington. Although I am thrilled to see this development, I understand that this isn't nearly on the scale of the other two developments simply because of land constraint.
this sounds good except it definitely looks scaled down. hopefully some new restaurants to the area. there is still a lot of space at Southridge has anyone heard any rumors of new restaurants or stores there. I wish that whole area had a couple more entrances and exits. it has such bad traffic especially Southridge. Is the possibility of a whole foods or Trader Joe's now out of the question.

I went to the Interstate Realty website and while they do have the proposed developments in Morgantown and Barboursville listed this one is not on their site. I also looked at the list of tenants that they have listed as having worked with and outside of Zaxby's there's not much on their list that we don't already have. I hate to be Debbie-Downer but the reality of this development even occurring is not positive and even if it does not sure we aren't going to get more of what we already have. I wish something shocking would happen in Charleston to change my attitude but until that happens my expectations are rather low these days.

I could easily see the DOH shooting this proposal down, but then again they got blasted for denying the last developer who was going to build an even larger center there. I am curious what they are trying to attract to the large anchor space. What kinds of businesses would be interested in a space that size?
This is fantastic news for the East End, as it continues to become a hotbed for restaurants. This appears to be the same group that developed WVU's Evansdale Crossing.

I read this this morning, thanks for posting here. This is huge news for the East End. I'm especially happy to see 1601 finally put to good use. Hopefully if 1601 is a success, it'll renew interest in the New China building. The infill in the no-man's-land created by the vacant Burger King lot is going to help a lot, too.

Yes it is, Fresh Hospitality. They also re-did the medical school food area.
