When I lived in LA, I occasionally had to get up very early to drive to southern Orange County. And just about everyone else on the road was a Latino in a beat-up 20-year-old Japanese car.

Somehow I don't think they were all on their way to the welfare office at 5 a.m.

Now I live in San Francisco, and I don't believe I've ever seen a Latino beggar here. They're all white or black (and very occasionally Asian).

They're out on the curb asking for jobs, not handouts.

The vast majority of immigrants WORK. As an illegal you cannot get on welfare. And most immigrants end up learning English, including most Hispanic immigrants.
Incorrect! They can get full welfare, from soup to nuts, if they are pregnant, no questions asked about status whatsoever. And once they birth the little American citizen, they are set on welfare here as the guardian of the little American citizen until the child is either 18 or 21 (forget which). Often they have gotten pregnant from another illegal alien who they are married to or live with, so he too benefits from their free rent, etc., while he is also working off the books and paying no income taxes. In some cases the illegal alien couple with an American citizen baby end up doing better than a working class American citizen couple because they are paying no income taxes on his income and soaking up generous financial benefits that are given to their child born on American soil.

So you admit they're here to work, contrary to what another poster asserted.

Illegal alien MEN can't get pregnant, so, alas, if they don't have access to a top notch fake ID specialist who will make them some citizen papers, it's work, starve, or, if they're particularly attractive, find a lonely lady (or man if they swing that way) to leech off of!

I was referring to the part in your little parable where you describe the pregnant lady's partner, a man who has -- apparently -- come here to work, even though another poster asserted that illegal immigrants never do that.

And I was answering you in the affirmative. right back at you. Saying illegal aliens NEVER work would be incorrect.

Pregnant illegal women cannot get welfare. In order to get welfare you have to show ID, including birth certificate. They could get medicaid for the little kids born here and maybe food stamps. But that is not enough for the illegal immigrants parents to LIVE off of, so they still have to WORK!!!!

Its bull**** that immigrants come here and get free rent, that definitely does not happen. First of all, generally speaking welfare offices don't do rent (with some exceptions). The rental assistance program is Section 8 and they only deal with citizens and maybe permanent residents. Its a lengthy process getting Section 8, even if one has children.

Stop spreading lies!

Even with Food Stamps, you have to provide proof and citizenship, at least I did back when I used them a few years ago. The people spreading this crap have never used these services (and good for them) but if they ever had, they would realize that it isn't as easy as they seem to think. When I was on Food Stamps I have to provide proof of income as well.
