Put it in the books! Mets win 7-4! Man, the Phills looked lost!
I'm just as thrilled as you are. But this season in particular I'm planning not to do too much jumping up and down...at least, not until the third or fourth week in September.
(Privately, however, you may be sure that I'm screaming at the top of my lungs. Every win over Philadelphia, Atlanta, and the Hated Yankees when it's time for interleague baseball should be cause for dancing in the streets and setting off fireworks).
I have a feeling today's rainout will be made up as part of a day-night doubleheader on either Friday 7/3 or Sunday 7/5, probably the former (due to many people being off on Friday 7/3 because of the Independence Day holiday).
^^^ Yadda, Yadda, Yadda, one guy walks in a run, and Philly fan acts as if their team is the next big thing.
Then again, look at the Phillies' history. An original National League team--they go all the way back to 1876. And in the 132 seasons they've been taking the field, what have they got to show for it? So naturally a Met pitcher walking in a run is a big deal to their fans.
Hmmm........the Phillies have benefited from how many bases-loaded walks this season?
And how bad are the Mets relievers?
You guys are in for a long summer.............
