So, what the hell was that? Let Zambrano bat with 2 on and 2 out only to pull him the very next inning at the first hint of trouble? I realize he had a solid batting average in the regular season and he can hit a pitch when a good one comes his way. But he's also notorious for chasing junk. That's why his batting average and OBP are identical, and that's not the man you want at the plate in a hugely critical at-bat. So, why let him bat only to pull him right out?
And then erstwhile rock-solid Marmol gives up 2 runs in the 7th? Hmm.... a young kid not ready for playoff pressure yet, maybe?
Well it's disheartening that the most solid setup pitcher in the league gave up 2 runs in an inning. Really though, it shouldn't have mattered that much. The pitching staff held the 'backs to 3 runs, which is enough for a good hitting team to overcome. The bats were asleep. You know it's not good when your team's most dramatic hit of the night came from your pitcher.
I'm the hugest Cubs fan ever, just like the rest of us (except for Mr. Arizona) but I think this series is a moot point. The Rockies look unstoppable right now. But ya never know!

Maybe... but every streak has to come to an end. Not to mention the Cubs owned the Rockies during the regular season.
