Me, too. Only American cars for me. Mainly GM, but also Ford and ('60s) Mopars.
I like 'em BIG and that eliminates Japanese cars!

Yeah, up till about 1972 an American car would be maybe a little crude, heavy, too softly sprung, but basically a good, simple, reliable car that was easy to work on, and a good value for your money. From 73 to about the mid-80's the "big 3" built some real losers, Japan and Europe coped with the requirements of the day more effectively.

Since the mid-80s some good to OK American cars have been built, quality has improved, for what it is the new 'Vette is really a bargain- but most American cars are just too big for my taste.

I love american made cars. I love the raw horsepower and durability they offer. I have had several muscle cars back in the day when i was younger and there is no substitute for the fun you are able to have with the cars.

I would like a car with high mpg, that will last a long time, of good quality. I don't need it to big huge. Horsepower isn't that important to me.

I'd like to see a rugged vehicle that still has a little bit of power but also gets better gas mileage.

I can agree some of today's foreign cars hold up better than american, but I believe there was once a time 36 years ago when an american car was built to last and foreign car manufacturers were not built very well at all.
Personally I think people like to thumb their noses at America in general because it's become the cool thing to do.

The last decade of American cars overall has been very good IMO. The big three shot themselves in the foot in the 70's, 80's and early 90's. There was some serious crap built in that era. And that, I think, is where they have gotten the bad rap.

When it comes to my cars, I stick to Japanese vehicles, but as far as trucks go, you don't really have much of an option if you want something heavy duty.

If Toyota or Nissan built a one ton pickup with a diesel, I'd drive my Dodge off a cliff.
