I just park my vehicle next to a much higher cost, more expensive vehicle. Poor mans theft deterrent.
I know you are trying to be funny, but in reality car thieves mostly go for cheap easy to steal older vehicles that they can joyride in or sell for parts later. Newer expensive cars are harder to steal so this really isnt a deterrent at all.

I think you're right. I have a 98 F-150. One day I got back to it in a mall parking lot and the tailgate was stolen.
My most amusing experience with car alarms was during the 1989 Loma Prieta quake in San Francisco, which occurred just as I was leaving my office at a university in the city. The quake set off car alarms everywhere, adding to the surreal situation.
