All depends on what it is worth to the buyer. I find the luxury lines of most carmakers to be overrated. Acura, Lexus, Audi, Infiniti. Aside from a few bells and whistles you aren't getting anything better in terms of reliability and very small gains in performance, if any. I love BMW's, the fit, finish, ride, style, engineering, interior build quality etc., but I'll be the first to admit they are overpriced.
Look at the Jaguar. Beautiful car, but horrible reliability record and the depreciation is probably one of the worst on the market. But if you like them and can afford them then more power to you, enjoy the ride.
If you buy them used the depreciation will not kill you.
My dad said that Porsche cars are not easy to drive and not very safe. If you don't know how to drive the Porsche cars carefully, you would more likely to get damaged.
Another overrated car brand to me is Volkswagen, I never liked any Volkswagen cars, they are noisy.
Toyota -- cranking out the same old drivetrain from 2008 no matter how they update the face. Plus on a Yaris, same weak motor on the S as the base model. C'mon it's already approaching 2016, at least try to catch up with everyone else. People saying that its the top brand, but really that crown belongs to Ford as of now
theirs no american sport car that can come close to a nissan gtr, LFA and if toyota was to ever re release the supra which it most likely will then thats another plus for japan.
Also your luxury cars cant match their either except cadillac.
American cars are the most boring cars ever.
pretty sad that a well stocked nissan 370z can compete against a srt8 charger. YAWNN.
If american cars are boring, then where the Dodge Challanger Hellcat, Mustang gt500, Corvette, Viper, Camaro Ss, Tesla model s even came from? What about Ram 1500 r/t? Does japan even have anything like those?
