the Mach 1's had an excellent combo. The 32 valve mod motor normally aspirated. Fantastic engine.. They are in the 12's with very little..

you got it man. I was a lifelong GM man.. But now since GM has become 'Government Motors' they have dropped in my book. Ford is the LAST privately owned American car company.. And quickly becoming #1 in sales.. If it was not for China, GM would be #3 in sales..

no the 99-01 cobras were N/A they ran the same 4.6 DOHC 4-valve as the mach 1.
I was just saying in 03-04 the Mach-1 was the go between the GT's N/A 4.6 2-valve with 260HP and 03-04 the cobra's 390HP supercharged DOHC 4-valve
they needed a middle ground car they could sell in the line-up with more power than the GT and less expensive the the supercharged cobra which is where the mach-1 came in.

it was a mix of base mustang GT and cobra parts with a 99-01 cobra motor the only thing that was special to the mach-1 was the cobra-R hood with working shaker/retro racing stripes and special retro theme 17inch rims and factory installed bolt-on sub frame connectors.

He even splurged for the stainless pedals and special shifter. There is nothing like going down the road and watching that shaker hood scoop twist when you gun it and shake at idol when stopped at a red light. You can hear it sucking air when the RPMs climb as well.

You can literally feel the power under the hood just by the sound and the seat of the pants feel you get with V-8 muscle. That is something you never will get to experience in 4 and 6 cylinder cars. The cool factor is a added bonus!

They upped the compression as well to 10:1. You combine that with ram air, 32V DOHC and it packs a punch. I remember the night he picked it up. He rolled over to pick me up and had the biggest s*** eating grin on his face I ever saw since we were kids. Whoa, that is wicked wheels man! When we took it out it was a head turner! Almost every light and everywhere we stopped that night people where eyeballing it and saying bada** car man!

Money makes the world go round my friend. If you have enough cash you can do almost anything. You can drop 5 thousand and still not be where you want to be or even close for that matter. Those tuner cars that cook as seen in the movies and on the internet have mega bucks invested into them to make em like that. Slapping on a KN air filter, ground effects, rear spoiler/wing, a rattletrap muffler and some graphics won't get you there. You need a pro to balance and blueprint that engine HE is building for you. Auto Zone and the likes only sell you fuzzy dice and nudey trucker girl decals! lol Is it possible to run with the pack? That depends on how much money you got. Geez, only a few of us are on the same page.
