Texas was a pretty boring race, other than wondering which car was going to blow out a tire at about 35 laps.

TMS was one of the lowest rated races on Jeff Gluck's poll.

I just though of something.

Who's going to run the Open at the All Star Race?

There's like 22 drivers qualified.. If Jimmie decides to run it.. 23.

Ty Gibbs will run the All Star Race because the 18 car won this year.. The 45 will run it even if Kurt doesn't come back..

It's gonna be Stenhouse, Gragson, Haley, Almirola, Custer, Blaney and Burton in it. And, it's still hard to believe that Blaney won't win before the end of the year.

Speaking of Blaney, his best bet to win is coming up at Dega.

Frankly, Blaney is capable of winning every week. And I don't buy 'Dega.. I'd put the Roval as a better chance.

But.. On to neeeeeeews.

William Byron docked 25 points for admitting to intentionally spinning Denny Hamlin

This has become a brou-ha-ha.

First, it never should have reached this point. Denny should have gotten the spot back. Caution was out, field was frozen.. He was hit and spun by a car that "didn't slow down for the caution'..

If he got his spot back, it was no harm, no foul pretty much all the way around. pick it up and move on.

But, because that didn't happen.. Then Byron is a big enough idiot to admit to doing it intentionally.. Forced NASCAR to penalize him.

Which.. I'm fairly certain moves him below the cut line. Yeah, he went from 17 points to the good to 8 behind the cut.

NASCAR said they didn't see Byron spin out Hamlin. They did see Hamlin was not able to keep up with caution speed, so that is why they put him where they did. I know, it's BS on NASCAR's spot.

Then after Hamlin tried getting his spot back, bumping Byron under yellow, both should have been penalized.

As for Blaney, the Penske team has been pretty quick at Super Speedways, which is why I mentioned Blaney had a decent chance to win, if he survives.

Oh hell, if they penalize everyone who bumps someone under caution, about the entire field would be penalized.

Now, when they bump enough to rip the bumper off the pace car, OK.. Maybe THAT deserves a penalty. But the last time that happened was Kyle Busch wrecking in the rain last year.. and.. Honestly.. That was kinda justified, too.

Bowman out Sunday
Alex Bowman will miss Talladega playoff race; Gragson to drive No. 48

Alex Bowman will not compete in the Round of 12 playoff race Sunday at Talladega Superspeedway because of concussion-like symptoms he suffered after a Sept. 25 crash at Texas Motor Speedway, according to Hendrick Motorsports.

Bowman was evaluated by physicians on Thursday, according to the team, and it was determined he could not participate this weekend.

Saw these on Facebook.....Not sure I agree, but were interesting. Note that Chase Elliot who I thought was most liked last few years isn't there.
