11 and 18 swap pit crews.. Considering the number of penalties the 11 has gotten.. This makes some sense. Of course, many of the penalties have been on the driver. Speeding and the like.
So.. JGR is providing pit crews for Petty GMS next year.. Umm..
I'd have looked at the pit crews that the 23 and 45 got before I signed THAT contract. Now they're going to spread even thinner?

I seem to remember Denny saying they would develop their own for next year.
At this point, if no active playoff driver wins in the playoffs, I say pick the person who won the most races during the playoffs and they're the champion.
So, a non playoff driver 'could' win the championship?
I'll say this, the current format is past its sell date. I'm sure something better could be conjured up. The fact that Reddick won after being eliminated is more bitter than sweet. Maybe put him back in the playoffs as a wild card. This could be the case especially during the first half of the playoffs.
IDK if it was here or somewhere else where someone went on a rant about "playoffs" and auto racing. I think his point was that NASCAR was copying other sports even to the naming of the championship part of the season.
Something about the word playoffs and car racing don't jive. I don't have a better suggestion. I wish I did.

Long shot that actually happens, but still.
I haven’t been all in watching the races this season but enough to know that between the tires, fires, sponsorship craziness and how bizarre the playoffs have been this year all the drama is distracting.
It has to frustrating for the drivers to work so hard all season and then really having to rely on luck in the playoffs. The fact that we have had non active playoff drivers winning in playoffs maybe should send a signal that something needs to be tweaked.
Thatll never happen! But it would be nice to get back to a better platform.
