while i havent been on every WV road, i have been on enough to know that unless you are in a well prepped race car, you are NOT going to be hitting 100mph on those roads. in fact you wont be averaging 100mph on those roads. the few straight roads in the state are far too crowded to be driving like a dimwit, and the rest of the roads have curves that are far too sharp to be driving fast through them.
maybe you didnt come here to brag, but that is about all you have been doing, bragging.
then move to europe and become a rally driver.
you are in your mid 20s and think you are not a kid? trust me you ARE a kid. i am in my mid 50s.
so you cant go to your local SCCA office, pick up a rule book, determine what production class that is inexpensive enough for you to buy a car and prep it for racing? you cant find the money for say a late 80s ford escort or similar car for instance, that you can buy for about $500, and put another $500 into safety systems, and then set a budget of about $1000 per year for parts and supplies to go racing?
You dont know enough about WV. A good driver can drive very fast down WV roads. You obviously need to adjust your speed to the road, but there are tons of places where one could reach 100+, easily.
Also, im not bragging. Im stating facts. If you could kick a 60 yard field goal and said so in the football forum that is not bragging, unless your intention is to show off. I made a passing comment and several posters got upset with it and demanded I immediately go to a race track and race NASCAR professionally so I can prove myself to them. One of them wants me to make a video of myself racing through WV.
WTF, people? I really dont care what people on this forum think. I know what my driving abilities are. Where I am lacking is my mechanic abilities. I know how to drive cars, not repair them. When my car has a problem I take it to a mechanic.
anyway, move to Europe and become a rally racer is not very realistic, even for a skilled driver. Ill just sell all my stuff and tell my Wife we are going to Europe. Im sure she is going to love that idea. Once I get to Europe the same problem would exist.
However, I am not giving up. I feel I can be a racer, but I need to slowly build a name for myself. I guess I can look into open try outs later and start working on a racing car. Hopefully in a few years, but I dont expect overnight success. I find if you want something you need to work long and hard for it.
talk hardly counts. When you get afmoius come back and tell us your anme;we will decide then. Otehrsie your one of thousands thinkig the same.
Like I said the process is beginning. The difference between them is I am a world class driver. It should only be a matter of time now. You will get to tell your grandchildren how you talked to me before I was famous.

I'm telling them right now. Got the whole bunch giggling.

as i have said, you sound exactly like the thousands of others who claimed they were world class drivers, many of them had actual track experience in real race cars, who never became famous because they just couldnt cut the mustard. for instance when i was the crew chief on a B/FA, we needed a driver because ours was unavailable for an event. a local driver in an econo altered class said he was willing to get into the car and drive it for us that weekend so we gave him a shot. the guy was quite talented and was a real winner. however he never finished a run in our altered because he was flat our scared to drive our race car because it was just too fast for him.
you have a lot of bravado, but i suspect you have too much and will end up just like many others and crap your pants when you get in a real race car.

Now you are changing your statements. There are many roads in many states you can go 100+:

I like cars the way they like cars.
For the other poster 60-70 is nothing I can easily do 100+ on roads meant for 25.
Personally, I would bet if you were a passenger with me and I had you guess the speeds I were traveling through curves your perspective would be way off.

I am not changing my statement. There is no way you can go one consistent speed on normal roads all the time. I never said that I maintain a constant speed all the time, that is just some assumption you made. When racing there are areas where I drive fast and other areas where I must slow down, often in preparation of certain road conditions.
I imagine if I were your passenger I might be a few MPH off, I cant guess exact speed, but I would be very close. I thought everyone could do this? Are you trying to tell me people cant gauge their speed?

Im not claiming anything. Just stating facts, and now that I am aware of how easy it is too race professional I plan to go ahead and pursue it.
Why would the guy volunteer if he was scared? Im not sure what type of racing B/FA is, but I have gone at high speeds in very fast cars in conditions much worse than a race track. It can be nerve wrecking, but it is something you learn how to handle.
I might be reluctant to race F1 until I was used to one of the cars. I dont know a lot about the sport, but those cars seem like they would handle very different from the cars I am used to, and I wouldnt just jump into one and race without knowing it.
You never know, someone on YouTube may notice your skill set as a self-professed "world class driver."
The authorities may also notice my skill for felony reckless driving. If I am going to do something illegal I am not going to record it and put it on youtube. It actually isnt uncommon as many idiots do illegal things and make youtube videos than get arrested or harassed by an internet mob.
