Geez - this thread caused my jaw to hit my desk. Amazing. I agree - this should be on the local news.
I know that some people like HOAs...but I'll never live within the jurisdiction of another HOA for as long as I live...to the extent that I have a choice.
On my phone so kinda hard to type. I am getting ready to call Clark Howard. I have some if my reaching out to more contacts. I love Clark Howard. I am waiting to see how they respond. My attorney told me their lawfirm is going to advise the president to remove the pillars, then they will place them back but at least she can drive. Also my attorney told me that their lawfirm advised them to do this, so she is researching it. Honestly I do not think the HOA knew my wife's car was in the garage since normally we don't pak in it. My attorney also told me this particular niche is not her expertise, she is a studnet if mine. I teach improv among other things... so I am starting to reach to my network and am getting great leads on attorneys/ lawfirms...
This kind of crap is exactly why I despise HOAs with every fibre of my being. In your shoes, I would probably wrap a chain around each one of the blocks and yank em' out of the way with a truck.
If they attempted to block my driveway again, I'd probably respond with a rifle.......
I have a home in an HOA. I could not imagine it coming to this EVER. Legal fees, lien, yes.
I would put them on craigslist "free" and have someone take them off of your hands.
Just get rid of them
At the worst, rent an engine hoist to move them
Have you looked through the bylaws to see if this is allowed?
I would sue them if it's not.
EDIT: I am wondering if this is a joke... i can't even believe this.
