They are considering substantial tunneling beyond North Decatur with their light rail in the latest version. And they are looking at some aerial sections.

If they're gonna tunnel that much, then they need to either go to HRT, go back to the drawing board, or scrap the whole plan. Seriously, all that tunneling in an area that's not heavily commercialized is just dumb.

Just posting it around so people can see visually what expansion in those counties would look like

Absolutely! That is how you sell transit in Atlanta. People need to see how it effects them.

It seems to me they are on auto-pilot and they need to re-think it when they add that much cost.

Basically the roads are over-capacity now. Impeding it further with light rail is crazy. So in some cases they are looking at tunneling. There are also probably some grade issues in the area. But they could tunnel in a straight line from North Decatur nearly to Avondale with the amount of tunneling they are doing, so why not HRT? It would pretty much double the ridership by getting rid of transfers based on their preliminary analysis a few years back. They need to go back to the drawing board and re-evaluate the relative costs and benefits.

Still working on Cobb and Top-End Perimeter lines, so standby for those later. Here're the HRT and Commuter Rail options most often seen in Gwinnett. Also a fixed original version

Clifton in your plan makes sense as an extension of the green line with the blue line going to Stonecrest Mall.

The Clifton Corridor could also extend to Doraville along the Gold line route. The employment in the corridor tends to come from Gwinnett or southeast DeKalb.

When the Red line gets extended, that map makes it clear what a huge gap there is to the northwest.
