when debating the anti-religious sect of atheism, i would say the theist that think we are part of a larger more complex system that they call god (and some atheist call the universe). and the anti-religious sect deny everything and anything they deem "theist can use to make atheism harder to sell".

the "all of them believe without evidence" isn't totally true. some theists use the same evidence but call the universe "god". and I call it "the universe". gld is a good example of a theists that uses the exact same evidence I use but he calls the universe god and I don't.

I don't believe that poster is interested in much more than getting a rise out of others or in bias confirmation. Then he is stunned when he doesn't meet with universal agreement. Check out other threads started by if you have the time and inclination.

In other words, since you disagree with me (and most people throughout history) all you want to do is throw insults. Most people do agree with me, I just happen to one of the few theists posting in this thread.

I'm still waiting to see all these debates won by theists . The only theist I have ever met here who could hold his own in a debate is Mystic, and he does this by simply calling the physical universe "God", and you can't argue against the existence of the universe . So then the debate with him becomes a matter of semantics .

Debates?

So is that what this entire sub-forum is all about, winning debates? Is this nothing more than a debate club then?

Calling the universe god, and declaring atheists to be wrong, as an incredibly stupid argument.

As an atheist, I can pull the same semantic stunt and define non-existence as god and declare victory as well.

Neither of us has advanced understanding or actually proven anything worthwhile. All we have done is show we can play with words.

If somebody wants to say that god is exactly synonymous with the universe, all they have done is render the term god pointless. On the other hand, if they say that god is almost entirely like the universe, with some major or minor difference, they still must define that difference and prove it. No theist has done so yet.

Lol, no. Mystic also makes assertions, begs the question, uses creationist argument but pretends he has come to those conclusion through his alleged superior intellect, dismisses any science he does not like, and wraps his nonsense in big words.
