And as for the climate? It's far better than the climate I fled when I left Connecticut, 11 years ago.

The only "uncomfortable" time occurs from about May 15th to the end of June. It can become very bright and very hot.

It's become my "hibernation time," actually. I just close up all the shades and avoid as much as possible, going outside. (Like Jan and Feb were in CT - but much less expensive.)

But then, in early July, we have what's called our "Monsoon Season." That's when we get stupendous, dramatic, and beautiful thunderstorms that drop the afternoon temperature at least 30 degrees within, I swear, 10 minutes. Which also brings on our "second spring."

Somewhere on the Web, I once read a claim that Santa Cruz County, Arizona, as the 8th best climate in all the world.

Never have been able to Google enough to confirm that, but I don't need to do that.

Because, believe me, all our 300 sunny days here surely beat all those miserably cloudy days I once suffered when I lived in Connecticut!
Well as folks on this board know, I rave about the weather in SE Arizona and Santa Cruz County is included in that. Passed through the area briefly and was very pleased with how scenic and relatively green the area was (especially around Patagonia). A very very pretty part of the country.

Come to NH in the summer. We have nice cool ocean and the lakes and swimming ponds are cool, not warm. The air is so brisk, it'll quench your thirst. I know it's a bit of a hike there, but trust me, save your $$ and take a trip, you won't regret Mt Washington Auto Road....drive it!!

There are many wonderful places in Arizona that are cooler in the summer than the valley. All of them are North, however. I love Prescott, but Pinetop, Flagstaff and Payson are also nice. If you really want to get cooler go to Page.
