You had a good question. It is a real area (although War Zone is in the eye of the beholder).

Law enforcement and criminals in Albuquerque remind me of that I Love Lucy episode where Lucy and Ethel get a job in a candy factory and the supervisor keeps increasing the speed of the conveyor belt moving the candy along. It doesn't matter what they do to try...they can never keep up. And your comment on the courts/judges...pretty difficult to disagree with that.

The two murders in ABQ last night only made section D of the newspaper, but the story did actually manage a headline on section D!

The Albuquerque Journal? Section D is the Metro Headlines, Local Headlines, always has been. That's where they put the Albuquerque Local Metro murders...

Just don't purchase crack on the corner of Central and California St., and you'll be fine.

I've seen murders in section C at times. Today's mention of yesterday's killing was a small blurb on page A4. But..that page did have METRO and NM at the top, so perhaps the Journal just moves that particular section around as needed.

Correct. I guess I should have stated it differently.

Yes, today Monday, the "Metro & NM" headlines is on page A4, just one page. This is the norm.

What I wish would be more pronounced would be the final disposition. What happens to this case in the end? Etc... Sometimes it takes years. Sometimes the evidence which is presented was possibly not as convincing as the group a or group b claimed... Case in point, the young woman who was stabbed in the throat and her cell phone stolen. They had a suspect and at first it seemed like the suspect was the culprit, the next day it seems he was no longer the attacker... But the newspapers need a story, they need to get your attention, they try not to have a boring read...

This city is going down crapper. Over 30 murders within 4 months? Absolutely horrific.
