Out of idle curiosity, does anyone ever have a problem with this site not responding? For example, 20% of the time I'm here, when I go to hit the "Submit Reply" button, or click to open a new thread, nothing happens. It's as if the server isn't receiving my request. I look at my little network status icon in my system tray, and it just appears dead. But I KNOW my connection is active and not dropping on me, because I can go to a different website and everything is fine. Then if I try to come back to C-D, it's as if the site can't be found. Nothing happens.

I use Firefox, and was wondering if that has anything to do with it, though I can't imagine how or why, because most of the time I'm fine. It's just that annoying 20% of the time. I usually have to close out Firefox and restart it before I can access the site again.

Mods/Admin - any thoughts about this?

No problem with Firefox, per se....but I have had strange issues with a new IE explorer installation on an XP Pro box. It will not display the menu bar just below the header, and sometimes messes up the thread page buttons. All other sites are ok and CD is fine on all my other computers.

WCRob,

Yep, had the same thing happening to me w/FF.
I've talked to others and they've had no issues.
All my stuff is current and up to date.
I'm not sure what the deal is...sometimes it works, sometimes nothing...
I also have to log in each time with FF where as IE remembers all my log-in info automatically.

I'm using Firefox and don't have any problems. I suggest waiting another couple of days and reporting again if the problems persist. We've been through a minor upgrade recently and we're still troubleshooting.

Question? In your options down at the bottom on your My settings, under Message Editor Interface do you have Standard Editor or Enhanced Editor listed? I found out LONG ago that for FF users, Standard works MUCH better. Liz

I should have stated this has been happening for a bit of a while now....perhaps a few weeks. Sorry 'bout that.

But I'll wait and see how it goes. It's not really a HUGE issue. Just a tad annoying.

WCRob, next time it happens try waiting a couple minutes instead of restarting Firefox. Please let me know if the site will start responding by itself. It will be helpful in trying to isolate the error (we think it might have to do with our firewall, not Firefox). Does it get stuck on "Connecting to..."?

No. It just does nothing. I keep a Bookmarks Toolbar at the top of the browser and have C-D and Google (among others) in that toolbar for quick access. When this happens, I can click on one of those other shortcuts (for example, Google) and I can go to that site. But while in Google, if I try to click on the C-D shortcut, it just doesn't do anything. I stay at the Google site and C-D doesn't come back up. That's when I have to completely close out Firefox and restart it.

I'll give it a few minutes the next time it happens to see if the site responds on its own, and will let you know the results.

Try deleting add ons and toolbars that you have added to Firefox first and then add them back ONE at a time. When it starts happening it again, you have found the culprit. Liz

I don't have any add-ons, nor do I use any third-party toolbars.

(I presume you mean things like Google Toolbar, or Yahoo Toolbar - right?)
